This collection includes records relating to the confiscation of Jewish properties and deportations of Jews. It consists of index cards, name lists, and other materials mainly from Terezi´n (Theresienstadt), Czechoslovakia, which is now part of the Czech Republic. These records were gathered as documentation against Nazi leaders, for the purposes of charging them with war crimes during the tribunals held by the United Nations following the end of World War II. The records are mostly in Czech, though some records are in English, and typically include the following details:

  • Name
  • Birth Date
  • Birth Place
  • Event Date
  • Event Place
  • Age
  • Residence

Note: Some documents contain names of German Army officers and soldiers who deserted and were subject to punishment by Nazi authorities. These names may appear in the index. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the World Memory Project do not necessarily recognize all of these individuals as victims of persecution.
