This database is a directory of some gentlemen who bear coats of arms in the United Kingdom. The collection was compiled by Arthur Charles Fox-Davies and is the third edition of his work. The work shows those arms said to be borne by legal authority and is not meant to be a complete listing of all those who bear a coat of arms. The database includes an introduction detailing the abuse of coats of arms, a listing of clubs, and the directory of gentlemen of coat armour. Included in the directory are names of family members, dates of vital events, biographical sketches, and pictures of the armorial bearings.
